EAO Milan 24 - Meet the experts Prof Anton Friedmann, Prof Vincenzo Iorio-Siciliano and Prof Péter Windisch

The EAO scientific committee has put together an inspiring programme structured around three daily themes. These will focus on ‘The fundamentals’, ‘State of the art – certainties’ and ‘Beyond the limits’. As always, the congress will bring together experts to debate the latest evidence-based practice, with
a strong focus on take-home techniques for daily use in your clinic.

Take part in the workshop: Non-surgical treatments for severe periodontal and peri-implant infections focus on biofilm removal and inflammation control, pivotal for halting tissue and bone destruction. These treatments underscore subgingival mechanical intervention, addressing the local and systemic implications of periodontitis. Current practices aim for pocket closure and reduced inflammation but face limitations in deep or complex pockets. Adjunctive materials, like hypochlorite/amino acid and hyaluronic acid gels, show promise in enhancing treatment outcomes, including biofilm reduction and tissue regeneration. A novel therapy, integrating these adjuncts, significantly improves periodontal health and pocket closure rates. This approach also offers hope in managing peri-implant defects non-surgically, underscoring its potential against complex intraoral conditions and enhancing patient satisfaction. This session is going to cover the scientific and clinical evidence for this novel concept.
