Hands-on workshop of surgical techniques of tissue regeneration in periodontology and GBR with Prof Anton Sculean and Dr Georges Khoury November 10, 2022 in 87 bd Murat, 75016 Paris.

About the event

Predictable coverage of multiple adjacent recessions and single deep mandibular recessions remains a challenge for clinicians. New data indicate that the use of the modified coronary advanced tunnel (MCAT) or the new closed lateral tunnel (LCT) in conjunction with various biological factors, connective tissue grafts, some collagen-based soft tissue grafts, or combinations thereof, can provide predictable coverage of single or multiple adjacent gingival recessions and achieve long-term stability. In addition, in selected cases, this technique can also be successfully applied to correct soft tissue defects around dental implants. Recent data from preclinical and clinical studies have provided evidence that the use of cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel can positively influence periodontal healing/regeneration in recession-type defects, but also in intraosseous and furcation defects.

In the context of bone regeneration, regardless of the size and type of defect, the challenges are to provide adequate reconstruction to receive the implant while minimizing the associated morbidity. The approach is based on hybrid regeneration based on bone augmentation, without autogenous bone, which aims to ensure optimum bone remodeling, particularly ensuring volume stability. It is based on the biological principles of autogenous bone healing, the importance of the collagen matrix and a new concept of vessel induction instead of bone induction.
